CLASSES THIS WEEK: MONDAY March 15th & TUESDAY March 16th. 

EXTRA SHOW PRACTICE!!! for 4th - 8th Graders (Middle Kix Only) Thurs. March 18th - 6 - 7 pm at St. Pat’s Parish Center.  

Show Arrival Times on Friday March 19th!! Please be on time - Middle Kix (4th - 5th grade) 5:20 pm,  Mini Kix (2nd & 3rd grade) 5:50 pm, Wee Petites (K & 1st Grade) 6:15 pm.  All preschoolers - Tiny & Teeny Kix arrive with your parents when doors open at 6:20 pm.  I will call you down from the bleachers 5 min. before show time.  Remember there is a $2 charge at the door for adults.  All children/students are free.

Spring Show T-shirt order forms were handed out at class!! Last day to turn them in is Friday, March 19th at our March JFK Show!  If you are interested in pre-ordering a t-shirt please fill out the form and attach a check made out to Just For Kix.  I would prefer to receive checks instead of cash please.  The pre-order t-shirts are $10 each.  There is no guarantee I will receive additional shirts to sell at the show.  If I do, they will sell for $12 at the show.  Spring Show t-shirt orders are due by Friday, March 19th.  I cannot accept any orders after that day.  Any questions, please let me know.

Picture Night was a big success!! Over 3 hours of indivual, buddy, sister and team pictures!  We should have them back in a few weeks.  Great job, Dancers!! A big thank you to Kelly Highby and her assistant Rachel for bringing their studio to us and creating a fun picture night for Sidney JFK!! Also, a big thank you to JFK parents for bringing your daughters and being so patient.  It was wonderful to have so many dancers there for our team pictures. I really appreciate it!

A reminder to mail in your class payments at the beginning of each month to the Just For Kix office: Just For Kix P.O. Box 724 Brainderd, MN 56401. You can also give them to me at class and I will send them in for you.  Either way make sure as our performances near that your account is current and you do not owe for any past months.  Checks are always made out to Just For Kix. Thank you, parents!

Friday, March 19th - Sidney JFK March Show - MS Gym - $2 for adults, all children free. 6:30 pm.  First peek at our new routines on the performance floor!  They are looking great.  Keep working girls and remember your attendance is important.  We are learning new choreography every week!

Friday, April 9th - Sidney JFK is partnering with the Community Center for the 1st “KIX for KIDS” Event!! - MS Gym - $3 per person (students & adults), 6:30 pm.  All proceeds will go to the Cheyenne Community Center to buy new sports equipment for KIDS.   Come out to support the Community Center and enjoy a wonderful show by the Sidney Just For Kix Dancers. Let’s fill the gym!!!

Friday, April 30th - Sidney JFK Spring Show - MS Gym - $2 for adults, all children free, 6:30 pm.  Last performance of the season.  A fun celebration of our 2nd full JFK dance season in Sidney!

Classes the first week in May will be Dancer Appreciation Nights (Dancer FUN nights!!!).  Remember there is no monthly payment due for May.  Please make sure you are making your monthly payments through April 2010.  All accounts must be current to participate in our final show on April 30th.

JUST FOR KIX OVERVIEW:
At Just for Kix we feel that it’s important for dancers to interact and learn as a team. Team based dance provides new and existing dancers with an opportunity to have fun while learning and growing as a group. We offer precision dance team instruction in over 185 communities and hope to continue to grow. By enrolling your daughter or son in Sidney’s Just for Kix dance classes you will be exposing them to quality dance instruction in a nurturing and culturally rich environment. Each of our communities offer various dance styles including; high kick, jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop and lyrical. Group lessons in Sidney provide young dancers with the ability to learn and perfect new techniques while they create everlasting friendships with likeminded peers. Individuals who take part in team dance activities will develop remarkable socialization skills; achieve a heightened sense of self-esteem, and learn key components in maintaining a healthy and physically fit lifestyle. These life lessons, among others, will benefit your child well into adulthood.

PHILOSOPHY:
Our philosophy has always been to treat dancers as we would want our own children to be treated. We want our classes to be a place where dancers feel valued and cherished. Our goal is to instill confidence and self-esteem, while helping them stay active.

TECHNIQUE and BASICS:
Parents are amazed by how detail oriented JFK is. Basic placement and technique is a major focus. We work on creating good habits in the younger dancers, to prevent bad habits from developing. Creator, Cindy’s philosophy is TAKE CARE OF THE LITTLE THINGS and BIG THINGS WILL HAPPEN. (Possibly why the high school team she coaches has won 8 state championships as well as a National Championship.) Instruction is VERY hands on and focused.
 FLEXIBILITY and STRENGTH is focused on too! They are 2 key factors in becoming a great dancer; challenging dancers to advance and progress to their top potential.

CHOREOGRAPHY:
Our choreography is what built our business. It is creative and innovative. DID WE MENTION FUN??? That is the NUMBER ONE ingredient. Our classes are fast paced and fun. We have great music and great instructors.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
1. You will perform multiple times per season at large-scale events.
2. The older classes compete in a “low pressure” environment. (4th grade and up)
3. Your costumes/uniforms are reasonably priced. Core classes use them for 2 years. Many times because of the JFK network your used uniform can be sold to dancers in other communities.
4. JFK is organized. We get it done! Class time is maximized so every minute is utilized.
5. Classes start on time and end on time.

WELCOME!! SIDNEY JUST FOR KIX DANCE

ABOUT YOUR DIRECTOR 
Sidney JFK Director, Donna Brown Fort, has an Elementary Education Degree with a Dance Concentration from St. Cloud State University and a Coaching Certicificate from the MN State High School League.  She has over 25 years of experience - dancing, cheering, teaching & coaching in Minnesota and now in Nebraska.   She is married to Brian Fort and they are the parents of three grade school children - Juliah, Evan & Alexah.  This is her 7th year as a JFK Director/Instructor.  She coached Varsity High School teams for 15 years earning 4 State Championship Titles - 2 with her high school Dance Teams in MN and 2 with her high school Cheer Team in NE.  She also led the Sidney HS Red Raiders Cheer Team to two consecutive Cheer Camp Champ Titles in 2008 and 2009 along with Xtreme Routine, Home Routine, Leadership, & Spirit Award Honors. She has danced at the high school level (Waconia HS Lakettes Dance Team - 4 yrs), college level (SCSU Dance Team - 4 yrs) and professional level (NFL MN Vikings Cheerleader - 5 yrs).  She relocated with her family to Sidney, NE from Hutchinson, MN August 2007.
