JUST FOR KIX OVERVIEW:
At Just for Kix we feel that it’s important for dancers to interact and learn as a team. Team based dance provides new and existing dancers with an opportunity to have fun while learning and growing as a group. We offer precision dance team instruction in over 185 communities and hope to continue to grow. By enrolling your daughter or son in Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton’s Just for Kix dance classes you will be exposing them to quality dance instruction in a nurturing and culturally rich environment. Each of our communities offer various dance styles including; high kick, jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop and lyrical. Group lessons in Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton provide young dancers with the ability to learn and perfect new techniques while they create everlasting friendships with likeminded peers. Individuals who take part in team dance activities will develop remarkable socialization skills; achieve a heightened sense of self-esteem, and learn key components in maintaining a healthy and physically fit lifestyle. These life lessons, among others, will benefit your child well into adulthood.

PHILOSOPHY:
Our philosophy has always been to treat dancers as we would want our own children to be treated. We want our classes to be a place where dancers feel valued and cherished. Our goal is to instill confidence and self-esteem, while helping them stay active.

TECHNIQUE and BASICS:
Parents are amazed by how detail oriented JFK is. Basic placement and technique is a major focus. We work on creating good habits in the younger dancers, to prevent bad habits from developing. Creator, Cindy’s philosophy is TAKE CARE OF THE LITTLE THINGS and BIG THINGS WILL HAPPEN. (Possibly why the high school team she coaches has won 8 state championships as well as a National Championship.) Instruction is VERY hands on and focused.
FLEXIBILITY and STRENGTH is focused on too! They are 2 key factors in becoming a great dancer; challenging dancers to advance and progress to their top potential.

CHOREOGRAPHY:
Our choreography is what built our business. It is creative and innovative. DID WE MENTION FUN??? That is the NUMBER ONE ingredient. Our classes are fast paced and fun. We have great music and great instructors.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
1. You will perform multiple times per season at large-scale events.
2. The older classes compete in a “low pressure” environment. (4th grade and up)
3. Your costumes/uniforms are reasonably priced. Core classes use them for 2 years. Many times because of the JFK network your used uniform can be sold to dancers in other communities.
4. JFK is organized. We get it done! Class time is maximized so every minute is utilized.
5. Classes start on time and end on time.

DID WE MENTION FUN???
That is the NUMBER ONE ingredient. Our classes are fast paced and fun. We have great choreography, great music and great instructors.

About your DGF Director and Coaching Staff:

  • The Director Amanda Kretchman has been with JFK for over 10 years. She began her journey of dance at the Fergus Falls School of Dance, where she took ballet, jazz, modern jazz and tap for many years. After she attended college at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD majoring in Criminal Justice and Human Services she began working as a youth counselor and prevention officer in Ottertail County. At this time she also started as an assistant JFK coach in Pelican Rapids under the direction of Tami Seifert. She assisted in Pelican Rapids for over 6 years and during this time became the Director of the Fergus Falls JFK program where she was at for five years. Five years ago her family moved from Alexandria, MN to Fargo, ND. During this time she also started the Fergus Falls High School Dance Team, which she currently coaches. Amanda was very excited when the opportunity arose to start the DGF program. This brought her closer to home to be able to spend more time with her husband of 13 years and her three children ages 9, 6 and 3.
  • We are so pleased to have two incredible assistants here in DGF.
  • Katie Koep was an assistant to  Amanda in Fergus Falls  and now is assisting in DGF . Katie has been involved with Dance since she was a young girl and danced throughtout her high school years and was captain of her HS team for 3 years. She is incredible with children of all ages and is currently going to NDSU. She will be assisting the teeny kix and Head Instructing the Hip Hop special sessions.
  • Chrisandra Loftsgard is also a member of the DGF JFK coaching staff. She will be assisting and Head Instucting the Wee Petites II class this season. This will be her third year coaching JFK. She was member of the Pelican Rapids High School Dance Team  and is going to school at NDSU.
