JUST FOR KIX OVERVIEW:
At Just for Kix we feel that it’s important for dancers to interact and learn as a team. Team based dance provides new and existing dancers with an opportunity to have fun while learning and growing as a group. We offer precision dance team instruction in over 185 communities and hope to continue to grow. By enrolling your daughter or son in Just for Kix dance classes you will be exposing them to quality dance instruction in a nurturing and culturally rich environment. Each of our communities offer various dance styles including; high kick, jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop and lyrical. Group lessons provide young dancers with the ability to learn and perfect new techniques while they create everlasting friendships with likeminded peers. Individuals who take part in team dance activities will develop remarkable socialization skills; achieve a heightened sense of self-esteem, and learn key components in maintaining a healthy and physically fit lifestyle. These life lessons, among others, will benefit your child well into adulthood.
PHILOSOPHY:
Our philosophy has always been to treat dancers as we would want our own children to be treated. We want our classes to be a place where dancers feel valued and cherished. Our goal is to instill confidence and self-esteem, while helping them stay active.
TECHNIQUE and BASICS:
Parents are amazed by how detail oriented JFK is. Basic placement and technique is a major focus. We work on creating good habits in the younger dancers, to prevent bad habits from developing. Creator, Cindy’s philosophy is TAKE CARE OF THE LITTLE THINGS and BIG THINGS WILL HAPPEN. (Possibly why the high school team she coaches has won 8 state championships as well as a National Championship.) Instruction is VERY hands on and focused.
FLEXIBILITY and STRENGTH is focused on too! They are 2 key factors in becoming a great dancer; challenging dancers to advance and progress to their top potential.
CHOREOGRAPHY:
Our choreography is what built our business. It is creative and innovative. DID WE MENTION FUN??? That is the NUMBER ONE ingredient. Our classes are fast paced and fun. We have great music and great instructors.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
1. You will perform multiple times per season at large-scale events.
2. The older classes compete in a “low pressure” environment. (5th grade and up)
3. Your costumes/uniforms are reasonably priced. Core classes use them for 2 years. Many times because of the JFK network your used uniform can be sold to dancers in other communities.
4. JFK is organized. We get it done! Class time is maximized so every minute is utilized.
5. Classes start on time and end on time.

First Performance - Parents Night
We will be having Parents Night on Tuesday December 1st. It will be held at the Moose Lodge at 6:30 PM. This is our first performance of the year! Please have your dancer come dressed and ready to perform NO EARLIER THAN 6:15. There is a coat room for parents and dancers to put their coats.
This show is only being offered for parents/siblings (or if parents cannot come grandparents may come in their place). There is simply not enough practical seating to hold any more spectators. I am sorry for limiting spectators but remember there is the Winter Show and the Spring Show that will be held at the Charles City High School Gymnasium that will have plenty of room for spectators.
The dancers are to wear black sweat pants (jazz pants if they have them) and a school colored t-shirt. For footwear they need to wear their ballet/jazz shoes. When wearing black pants and black shoes a dancer should also wear black socks/nylons. For Wee Petites who have white jazz shoes you can wear white socks. Hair should be pulled up away from their face.
