GENERAL JUST FOR KIX INFORMATION ~

Communication: Good communication is important to the success of this season. You will be getting a 2 month calendar. These calendars are very important (dates, information, etc).  Please read them thoroughly and refer to them regularly. Our classes run back to back, which doesn’t allow much time for me to talk with parents. Your comments and questions, however, are important to me. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year. The best time to reach me is during the day on my cell (1-218-731-9926), or you can also contact me by email at barnesville_mn@justforkix.com.

Dance Attire: Please have your dancer arrive in dance or active wear. Jazz pants, shorts, leotards, and T-shirts are acceptable. NO jeans, dresses, skirts, sandals, boots, or street shoes will be allowed. In order to feel like a dancer, you must dress like a dancer. Ballet, Jazz or Tennis shoes are required footwear (no stocking feet or bare feet, please). Also remember that no gum, food, or candy will be allowed at dance class or in the hallway waiting area.

Uniforms/Shoes:  Uniforms take 8-10 weeks to manufacture.  Full payment is required to order your dancer’s uniform. Once your dancer receives her uniform, she should try it on. We can only accept exchanges if the uniform has not been worn. Regarding the jazz pants you are ordering… JFK purposely makes the jazz pants a little longer than average. Please hem up your dancers pants so they land just above the heel of her dance shoes. New ballet slippers are $14.50 and jazz shoes are $30.

Payments: Class fees are $25 (K-12th gr) and $22 (tiny-kix) every month. Class payments are due by the 1st of each month. Any payments received at the home office after the 10th will have an additional $5.00 late fee per month added to the balance. 1/2-year payments will be due the beginning of our season and you will receive a $1.00 per month discount by paying by the ½ year.  You can bring your payments directly into the Community Ed office.  Sibling Discount: If you have two or more dancers in the program there is a dollar discount per month per child.

Cancellations: If school has closed early or is cancelled due to weather, there will be NO Just For Kix classes that evening. Announcements will be made on Fargo tv & radio stations, and these classes WILL be made up.

Non-Distraction Environment: We have found through the years that the most productive way to run classes is without distractions. We want to offer the best quality class we can. Since we only have a short time per week together, every minute is important. Therefore, I encourage a “no distraction environment”. What this means is that I prefer no parents or siblings in during class time. However, I will allow spectators in the last 10 minutes of the last night of class each month. This way you will be able to see the progress we are making.

Performances: ALL performances are considered important. Please make it a priority to have your dancer at each and every performance. They’ve practiced together as a team, so please stress that they need to perform together as a team. Performance dates will be found on your calendar or online. Remember if you ever have any comments, concerns, or questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Your children are very important to me, as my goal for them is to have a fun & rewarding experience dancing with JFK. We pride ourselves in helping your dancer to improve her or his dance skills and build self esteem. I’m excited to have a great JFK season together!

With Kix!  Emily Dillon
