Here at Just for Kix we feel that it’s important for young dancers to interact and learn as a team. Team based dance provides new and existing dancers with an opportunity to have fun while learning and growing as a group. We offer precision dance team instruction in over 150 Midwest communities and hope to continue to grow. By enrolling your son or daughter in Altoona/Pleasant’s Just for Kix dance classes you will be exposing them to quality dance instruction in a nurturing and culturally rich environment. There they will study and participate in various styles of dance including jazz, ballet, and tap. Group lessons in Altoona/Pleasant provide young dancers with the ability to learn and perfect new techniques while they create everlasting friendships with likeminded peers. Individuals who take part in team dance activities will develop remarkable socialization skills; achieve a heightened sense of self esteem, and learn key components in maintaining a healthy and physically fit lifestyle. These life lessons, among others, will benefit your child well into adulthood.

Welcome to the Altoona/Pleasant Hill Just For Kix web page!

The Altoona/Pleasant Hill JFK program is one of 150 programs in a 7 state area. JFK employs talented Directors to implement their caring values and philosophies, while teaching and preparing dancers for high school dance team. 2008-2009 will be the fourth year for the Altoona/Pleasant Hill program and the director is Jill Craven. Jill coached the Southeast Polk RhythAMettes and RhythAMen to many state championships and various awards for a total of 11 years. We teach fundamentals and technique of dance, teamwork, sportsmanship, self confidence and the art of performing, while having fun in an energetic atmosphere. Come join Just For Kix 2008-2009, I can’t wait to get started!

Our Dance Program offers many performance opportunities. We pride ourselves in teaching self confidence, teamwork, dance skills, the art of performing, in a fun and energetic atmosphere!

PHILOSOPHY: Our philosophy has always been to treat dancers as we would want our own children to be treated. We want our studio to be a place where dancers feel valued and cherished. Our goal is to instill confidence and self-esteem while helping them stay active.

TECHNIQUE and BASICS: Parents are amazed by how detail oriented JFK is. Basic placement and technique is a major focus. We work on creating good habits in the younger dancers, to prevent bad habits from developing. Our philosophy is TAKE CARE OF THE LITTLE THINGS and BIG THINGS WILL HAPPEN.

FLEXIBIBILITY and STRENGTH is focused on too! They are 2 key factors in a great dancer. Classes available for strength and flexibility. Challenging dancers to advance and progress to their top potential.

CHOREOGRAPHY: Our choreography is what built our business. It is creative and innovative.

MORE INFO:1. Perform multiple times per season at large-scale events (Iowa State Fair, Southeast Polk High School, Grand View College, Drake University, JDRF walk, parades, etc).2. Older classes compete in a fun and exciting, and positive environment. (4th grade and up)3. Costumes/uniforms are reasonably priced4. Organized. We get it done! Class time is maximized so every minute is utilized.5. Start on time and end on time.6. Instructors are motivated, educated, and positive.

DID WE MENTION FUN??? That is the NUMBER ONE ingredient. Our classes are fast paced and fun. We have great choreography, great music and great instructors.
